East Coast Getaway for Lincolnshire Family

VW campervan on the east coast of lincolnshire

Liz White and her family have recently returned from an east coast getaway in our campervan Bertie. Whilst deciding to stay in their home county Lincolnshire, the Whites explored the coastal towns the area has to offer.

Sutton-on-sea is one of Lincolnshire’s popular coastal resorts. While it may not have the flashy rides and arcades of Skegness, it is a town that boasts great history. Having been flooded in 1953 on January the 31st, the whole town had to rebuild itself. The coastal walls were battered by ten foot high waves and flooding five feet deep forced an evacuation. Liz recommends the campsite near Sutton called South Farm Caravan Site. This family run facility has lots of space for the whole family and is just a stone’s throw from the beach.

Although Liz likes the peace that Sutton-on-sea had to offer, Skegness enamoured her kids. With a host of arcade games and slot machines, it’s easy to lose a few hours in the “Skeggy” amusements. What’s more, Skegness has a good range of fish-n-chip restaurants and crazy golf courses. No wonder Liz’s kids enjoyed themselves.

One other stop to note on Liz’s east coast getaway is Tattershall Castle. Constructed in 1231 during the reign of Henry III, the castle saw battles during the civil war in the 1600s but was eventually restored in 1911. So, if you find yourself in the area it is definitely worth exploring.

Liz and her family had a great time in Bertie, finding it difficult to say goodbye after their holiday. Above all, Anne’s Vans is dedicated to providing a high quality VW campervan experience.
