Lincoln residents Michelle and Steph rented out our vintage VW camper-van Bertie last week. However, instead of embarking on a cross-country trek, the pair decided to look closer to home…

Steph and Michelle review their stay in Bertie and at Hanworth Country Park

Potterhanworth is a small country-side village in Lincolnshire – a mere 20 minute drive from Lincoln city-center. It boasts the idyllic country park, Hanworth Country Park. Facilities include the “Lakeside Leisure Lodges” and glamping pods as well as the usual camping and camper-van areas. There are also a couple of fishing spots to catch dinner. Why not put to use the stove within our vintage T2 camper-vans. It comes to no surprise then, that Michelle and Steph, who visited there last week, felt at peace from their normal lives.

Michelle and Steph felt that by only driving a short distance from their home, they could still enjoy their trip. By exploring the local area, they found peace and quiet. Just goes to show that with a bit of an open mindedness, there might some hidden gems near your house. In all, Michelle and Steph still were able to have a great time even though they didn’t travel very far.

Anne’s Vans is a VW camper-van rental company based in Lincoln. We have three vintage T2 bay vans – Bertie, Betty and Ruby – as well as Vera, a modern T5. Although all our vans are booked out for August (it is the high-season after all) we still have some availability for the rest of the year. If you are looking to rent one of our camper-vans, then please go to the booking page on our website. Thank you for reading, we hope to see you soon in one of our vans!

Carl Bird and his partner Lisa have recently hired our T2 vintage camper-van Bertie. Once again, Anne’s Vans received great reviews, with Carl describing Bertie as a “real home from home”.

The Birds ventured north from Bertie’s home in Lincoln to Scarborough. Whilst there, they visited Italian restaurant Tricolos in Scarborough and Fish Box fish and chip restaurant in Robin Hood’s Bay. Both are highly recommended if you ever find yourself in the area.

Overall, Carl and Lisa had this to say about their trip in our vintage camper-van:

“We had a great time thanks and loved Bertie – a real home from home.”

Thanks to the Birds for renting out VW camper Bertie, we’re happy that you had a nice break.
